Hello. First, some technical details. I am a licensed acupuncturist in Tennessee. I received my Masters of Science degree in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine as well as a degree in Asian bodywork therapy from the Pacific Center of Health and Sciences in San Diego, CA in 2006. I am board certified by NCCAOM as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine.
Since 2009 I have operated an acupuncture practice in Memphis, TN treating issues ranging from chronic pain and musculoskeletal problems, woman’s health and pregnancy support, to mental-emotional and autoimmune disorders. During these years in Memphis, I have also created a training program in pediatric acupressure for nurses at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, taught complementary and alternative medicine for pain care to nurses at Methodist University Hospital, presented acupuncture approaches to chronic pain at the UT Family Health and Psychiatry symposium, and taught eastern modalities of massage at the Massage Institute of Memphis where I still serve on the accreditation advisory board. Prior to living in Memphis, I worked as an acupuncturist and case manager for The Fertile Soul in North Carolina, learning from Dr. Randine Lewis how to support women’s fertility journeys with Chinese medicine.
I grew up in the New Jersey suburbs just outside of NYC and earned an undergraduate degree in history from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. After 8 years in California working in architecture, construction, and landscape irrigation, I began the study of Asian healing modalities starting with shiatsu at the Ohashiatsu Institute in NYC. One thing led to another, and after many years of training, I was a practicing acupuncturist.
To be a student of life and health is to be a student of nature, and in my off time, weather permitting, you’ll find me walking in the woods, doing my best to learn from the plants, trees, birds, and bees. But enough of me, you can read about whatever is on my mind by both signing up to receive the weekly newsletters and checking out my blog posts.
